Shake Hands

'Whenever two Muslims meet and one of them takes the other by his hand and they shake hands, and they praise Allah. Then when they depart from each other there will not be any sin upon them.- Bara' bin 'Azib (r.a.) Musnad Ahmad, Albani classified it as Sahih

Allah's Love

Ten causes that result in Allah's love for His slave and the slave's love for his Lord.

1.First, reciting the Qur'an while pondering over its meanings and what is meant by it.

2.Second, getting closer to Allah by performing voluntary deeds after completing obligatory deeds. This is as is stated in a Hadith Qudsi: "My slave continues getting closer to Me by performing voluntary deeds until I love him." [al-Bukhari]

3.Third, continual remembrance of Allah under all circumstances, with one's tongue, heart and actions. The extent of one's love of Allah is determined by this.

4.Fourth, giving precedence to what He loves over what you love when you are overtaken by your desires.

5.Fifth, the heart being avid of Allah's Names, and Attributes and the heart roaming in that garden of knowledge.

6.Sixth, observing Allah's kindness, goodness and bounties, both hidden and open.

7.Seventh, and this is the most wonderful, the heart being soft, subdued and meek before Allah.

8.Eighth, being alone with Allah during the time when the Lord descends during the last portion of the night while reading His Book and ending that by asking for forgiveness and repenting.

9.Ninth, sitting with the beloved and sincere, benefitting from the most fruitful of their speech. And not to speak unless speaking is more beneficial and you know that it will improve your state and be beneficial to others.

10.Tenth, remaining away from every cause that comes between the heart and Allah.-Ibn al-Qaiyim

Piety has Three Levels

1. Protecting the heart and limbs against sin and forbidden actions.
2. Protecting them against undesirable matters.
3. Protecting against curiosity and whatever is not of one’s concern.
The first will grant life to the servant, the second will grant his health and power, and the third will grant him happiness and joy.

Your Heart heart will be Happy

If the servant of Allah knows that he cannot escape nor change the plan of Allah, he will commit all his affairs to Allah and throw himself between His hands as a humble servant throws himself between the hands of a mighty king who has authority over him- and indeed the servant has no power of his own. When the servant knows all that, he will be relieved from all distress and sadness and will pass the burden to Allah who does not care or get tired. Allah will carry them, and show him kindness and mercy without any tiredness. The servant has paid attention to Allah alone and Allah paid attention to the needs and benefits of his life and emptied his heart from them, and, as a result, his life will be good and his heart will be happy.-‘Al-Fawaa’id’ by Imam Ibn al-Qayyim

Tawbah – Our Constant Companion

“The state of repentance, tawbah, is at the beginning, the middle and the end of all states of submission to the will of Allah SWT. The servant who seeks the pleasure of Allah SWT never abandons tawbah. He remains in the state of tawbah until his death. Whatever his state of belief, the servant makes tawbah his constant companion.” - Imam Ibn-e-Qayyim

Children Do What They See

"How do you expect kids to listen to their parents?... Tarzan lives
half naked, Cinderella comes back home at midnight, Pinocchio lies all
the time, Aladdin is the king of thieves, Batman drives at 320 KM/h,
Sleeping beauty is lazy, and Snow white lives with 7 guys. We
shouldn’t be surprised when kids misbehave! They get it from their
story books.." - Taimiyyah Z

Submission of Heart and Face

'Uqbah bin 'Aamir (r.a.) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) said: "When a Muslim makes wudu and makes it well, then prays two rak'aat with humility and submission of his heart and his face - then Paradise is obligatory for him."-Muslim
According to Imam Nawawi, in his Sharh of Sahih Muslim, مُقْبِلٌ means Khudu' (submission) and Khushu' (humility) عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ رَضِيَ الله عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يَتَوَضَّأُ فَيُحْسِنُ وُضُوءَهُ، ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَينِ مُقْبِلٌ عَلَيهِمَا بِقَلْبِهِ وَوَجْهِهِ، إِلاَّ وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الجَنَّة. أخرجه مسلم (1/209 ، رقم234
