Soften Hearts With Dhikr

A man said to al-Hasan al-Basri, “O Abu Sa’eed, I am complaining to you of the hardness of my heart.”
He said,“Soften it with dhikr. The more forgetful the heart is, the harder it becomes, but if a person remembers Allaah, that hardness softens as copper melts in the fire. Nothing can soften the hardness of the heart like the remembrance of Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted. Dhikr is healing and medicine for the heart. Forgetfulness is a disease, the cure for which is remembrance of Allaah.”

  2. This comment will be worth nothing but I'm writing it for fun.

Your student left me because she didn't believe in love. She believed in snobbism/materialism as Pakistani culture teaches. She and her mother worked in Alhuda institute Canada, learning and teaching Tafsir classes, yet they were snobbish materialists at heart.

Allah was never there for me when I needed him, so I left Islam. Now I think of suicide but then I worry about him putting me in hell for taking my life. Another option is to not care - just go ahead with it.

If you suffer in this life and you will suffer in the next life too then why sit and wait, just take your life and just embrace this sadistic prison. What am if not but a play thing of this God.

"Bhaagh ke kaha jao ghe, Allah se kehin nehi bhaagh sakte, sirf usske paas hi ja sakte ho." But he wasn't there for me when I needed him. -

It makes sense when people say "Alhamdulillahi ala kulli haal." - There's no guarantee that Allah will ever help you when you need him, divine intervention only happens for prophets. Allah has no obligation towards ending your suffering.

I used to be Sufi like most of Pakistani, and then I turned to this Salafi thing, studied Tafsir lectures by Ustaza, only to leave Islam and become an agnostic a few years later.

It's all lies and a matter of perspective. A good person can recruit followers and so can a bad person - all it requires is charisma.

  3. Allah is always kind to us but sometimes we are in so much pain that we fail to see things as they are... simply because our vision gets distorted.
For example if you are too depressed to open your eyes... then you will not be able to see the beautiful flower reminding you that Allah loves you... you won't be able to see the beautiful sky and the wonderful clouds which are there to remind you of Allah's care and protection... And so with your eyes closed, and your heart full of pain, you will keep complaining that there is nothing good and beautiful... but will it be true?
So dear son believe me that we can not judge things by the way we feel... because our feelings can deceieve us so easily and the facts gets distorted because of our distorted vision.
I have never before visited tweet nor was there any specific reason for me to click on this particular post... so I think it is by Allah's will that I saw this and I am certain that He loves you so much that he made me write this to you even though I have no idea whether it will be of any benefit or not... but I feel your pain and I want you to come out of it by seeing things in their true light and by opening the eyes of your heart... which I am sure must be very good...
May Allah help you and may he fill your heart with hope and faith... ameen
