" The month of Rajab is the month for planting, the month of Sha’baan is the month of irrigating the crops, and the month of Ramadaan is the month of harvesting the crops. - Abu Bakr al-Balkhi
He also said: The likeness of the month of Rajab is that of the wind, the likeness of Sha’baan is that of the clouds and the likeness of Ramadaan is that of the rain; whoever does not plant and sow in Rajab, and does not irrigate in Sha’baan, how can he reap in Ramadaan? Now Rajab has passed, so what will you do in Sha’baan if you are seeking Ramadaan? This is how your Prophet and the early generations of the ummah were in this blessed month, so what will you do?
Salamah ibn Kuhayl said: It was said that Sha’baan was the month of the Qur’aan readers.
When Sha’baan began, ‘Amr ibn Qays would close his shop and free his time for reading Qur’aan.

Patience!
ولا بد للمؤمن من صبر قليل حتى يصل به إلى راحة طويلة……and it’s incumbent upon the believer to have a little patience in order to reach by way of it to a lengthy rest. - Ibn Rajab
فإن جزع ولم يصبر فهو كما قال ابن المبارك من صبر فما أقل ما يصبر ومن جزع فما أقل ما يتمتع
If he gets impatient then he is, as has been said by Ibn al-Mubaarak: Whoever exercises patience, then how little is the patience he will have to exercise. And whoever is impatient, then how little is the enjoyment he will have.
al-Imaam ash-Shaafi’ee used to recite (the following verses of poetry):
“O my soul! It is not, except a few days of patience; As if the extent were but a few dreams.
O my soul! Pass quickly on through this world; And leave it, for indeed life lies ahead of it.”

Sadaqah Benefits The Dead
Abdullah bin 'Abbas (r.a.) narrates that Sa'ad bin 'Ubadah (r.a.)'s mother passed away during his absense. He asked the Prophet (s.a.w.) "O Allah's Messenger! My mother has passed away during my absence. Would it be of benefit to her if I give sadaqah on her behalf?" He (s.a.w.) replied, "Yes!" He said, "Be my witness then that I give my fruitful garden as sadaqah on her behalf." - Sahih al-Bukhari (115/2756)Haafiz ibn al-Hajr al-Asqalaani said in Fath al-Baari, his Sharh of al-Bukhari:(تُوُفِّيَتْ أُمّه وَهُوَ غَائِب عَنْهَا)She was 'Amrah bint Mas'ud Ansaariyyah Khazrajiyyah. She accepted Islam & took oath of allegience & died in 5 A.H. The Prophet (s.a.w.) was out on an expedition and her son Sa'd bin 'Ubadah was accompanying him. when the Prophet (s.a.w.) returned from the expedition he prayed (the funeral prayer) on her grave.
